A couple in Arkansas was recently reunited with their dog after he went missing for four days. Jordan and Book Allen‘s dachshund Whiskey had escaped through a loose board in their backyard fence in Morrilton and disappeared into a nearby wooded area. The Allens searched and posted online, hoping someone would spot him.
Their search led them to Chris Laughlin, a drone pilot and owner of Natural State Drone Solutions in Russellville. He used his drone to scan the wooded area from above and eventually located Whiskey, who was dangerously close to a coyote. Laughlin acted quickly, using the drone's propeller wash to scare the coyote away.
Thanks to his actions, Whiskey was rescued unharmed and brought back to his grateful family. “He saved our family,” the Allens say, crediting Laughlin and his drone with bringing their beloved dog home. His company shared drone footage and an update on social media describing it as a “harrowing last-second rescue.”
