It’s known that animals can feel a natural disaster coming, and the San Diego Zoo has proof.

The zoo released a video showing a group of five elephants forming an alert circle during yesterday's 5.2 earthquake.

The elephants at the Safari Park location near Escondido formed a circle designed to protect the herd and younger elephants during the shaking.

The animals created the circle, standing face out with the youngest elephant in the middle.

The zoo says all five elephants are safe and back to their regular routines.
