Legendary Johnny Mathis Announces Retirement

Pop legend Johnny Mathis is announcing his retirement from touring.

The 89-year-old crooner is still on the road and currently on his "Voice of Romance Tour." Yesterday, his team announced on his official Facebook page that Mathis will perform his last show on May 18th in Englewood, New Jersey.

The announcement stated, "Due to Mr. Mathis' age and memory issues, which have accelerated, we are announcing his retirement from touring and live concerts."

Mathis still has four more shows before he retires, with his next performance on April 10th in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.

His career spans nearly 70 years, featuring 79 studio albums and classic hits like "Chances Are,"

"Misty," and "It's Not For Me to Say." He is Columbia Records' longest-signed artist.
