Mayor Lightfoot is employing a mascot dubbed the census cowboy to encourage Chicagoans to fill out the 2020 Census.
The mayor introduced Adam Hollingsworth yesterday, who rode in on horseback to the tune of "Old Town Road," by Lil Nas X.
The 33-year-old former boxer will ride next week through ten South and West Side wards in an effort to boost census participation.
Lightfoot says Chicago has a 55-percent census response rate, compared to 62-percent nationwide.
The deadline to fill out the census is October 31st.
Hollingsworth drew national attention after riding his horse during the protests touched off by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.
