Police in Long Island have arrested Amanda Kempton, a 32-year-old from Virginia, in connection with the hit-and-run death of Sara Burack, a luxury real estate agent featured on Netflix's Million Dollar Beach House. The incident occurred early Thursday (June 19) on Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays. Burack was found unconscious and later died at Stony Brook University Hospital due to severe injuries, including brain and liver damage and a broken leg.

Kempton was arrested on Friday (June 20) and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in a fatality, a felony that could lead to a maximum sentence of up to seven years in prison. Her family posted collateral for her $100,000 bail.

Kempton claims that she was unaware she had hit a person, thinking she struck a traffic cone due to foggy conditions. Her lawyer stated that alcohol was not a factor in the incident. Authorities tracked her vehicle using a license plate reader, finding it with a damaged front end at her family's home.

Burack, a former agent with Nest Seekers International, was known for her appearances on Netflix and HBO Max. She was deeply involved in philanthropy, co-chairing events in New York City. Her tragic death has left a significant impact on her community, with friends and family mourning the loss of a beloved and hardworking individual.
