Mom Pushes 9-Year-Old Daughter To Get Plastic Surgery On Eyes

A mother in Japan pushed her daughter to go under the knife at just nine years old.

Rucchi, a mom of five, says she was miserable as a child because she didn’t have double eyelids, a facial feature many Asian people are born without.

She grew up with monolids until she was 18 and had plastic surgery to create the coveted double eyelids and now she wants her young daughter to do the same, but at half the age she was when she did it.

“My mother and sister have big eyes, while I had a monolid,” Rucchi explains. “A girl needs double eyelids. I have never seen a girl with monolids who I thought was pretty.” And since her little girl, Micchi, has monolids, this mom encouraged her to have the procedure to get double eyelids to make her look “beautiful.”

Even though the girl isn’t even 10 yet, plastic surgery for minors is legal in Japan, as long as the child has parental consent.

And despite her young age, Micchi was eager to get the painful surgery because she says her eyes were “too narrow”and that it looked like she was “glaring at people.”

The girl explains, “If you can endure the pain of plastic surgery, that makes you a beautiful person, in my opinion.” She may have wanted it, but her operation, which should have taken 20 minutes, took two hours and the anesthetic didn’t work, so she may have felt differently about it afterwards.

Her mom says, “I wanted this procedure to have a positive impact on her.” Let's hope it did.
