Woman Pretends To Be Target Employee To Steal $40,000 Worth Of iPhones

You have to give this master of disguise some credit – she really thought this one through and displayed a keen attention to details. Police in Virginia are on the lookout for a woman who dressed up as a Target employee so that she could rob the store of over $40,000 worth of iPhones.

The bizarre incident took place on March 15 at an Alexandria location. According to investigators, the unidentified woman waltzed into the store dressed as a Target employee, with a name tag and everything. No one batted an eyelash.

She made her way back to the stock room and apparently charmed her way in. Once behind closed doors, the woman proceeded to stuff over $40,000 worth of iPhones – roughly sixty, depending on the model – into a box.

The woman then placed the valuable box into a shopping cart and walked out the door, where she was met by a getaway driver. While police claim that the woman was not a store employee, she somehow knew details surrounding the store’s procedures and the iPhones’ location and used that knowledge to plan the heist.
